An iced vanilla latte is a simple place to start your home café routine. Fresh espresso brings the coffee flavor, cold milk adds creaminess, and a little vanilla ties everything together.
This recipe uses a TUNI E2 Gen3 espresso machine paired with a TUNI G1, G2, or G3 grinder.

Makes: 1 drink
You’ll need: Your TUNI setup, a coffee scale, and a 12–14 fl oz glass.
Ingredients
- Fresh coffee beans, enough for your double basket’s recommended dose
- 1 double espresso
- 150 ml / approximately 5 US fl oz cold milk or oat milk
- 10 ml / 2 tsp vanilla syrup
- About 120 g ice
Prepare Your TUNI Espresso
Bring your E2 Gen3 to its ready state according to the manual. For freshly ground beans, use the non-pressurized double basket and a dose within its recommended capacity.
On your G1, G2, or G3, start with a fine setting suitable for espresso. Grind into the dosing cup, weigh the grounds, and transfer them to a clean, dry basket. Distribute evenly and tamp level.
For a starting recipe, aim for roughly twice the ground coffee weight in brewed espresso. For example, if your basket supports a 16 g dose, start around 32 g of espresso. Use the E2 Gen3’s manual extraction controls as instructed in its manual to stop at your chosen yield.
How to Make It
- Brew the espresso into a small cup.
- Stir the vanilla syrup into the warm espresso.
- Add ice to your drinking glass, then pour in the cold milk.
- Pour the espresso over the milk.
- Stir before taking your first sip.
This recipe uses hot espresso poured over cold milk and ice; you do not need to switch to a cold-extraction setting.
Adjust Your Next Cup
If your espresso rushes out and tastes thin, try a slightly finer grind next time while keeping the dose and yield the same. Follow your grinder’s instructions when changing settings.
If the espresso tastes good but disappears in the milk, reduce the milk to 120 ml instead of extracting a longer shot.
For a less sweet drink, use just 1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup.
Your Home Café Challenge
Make the recipe twice: once with dairy milk and once with your favorite alternative. Save the version you prefer.
